New Study Reveals Surprising Link Between UFO Sightings And Pollution
Researchers studied about 98,000 UFO sightings reported between 2001 and 2020. Their main aim was to understand the environmental conditions during these sightings.

UFO, also known as an unidentified flying object, refers to any strange thing seen in the sky that cannot be immediately identified or explained. They’re often claimed to be vehicles carrying aliens. Some time back, especially in the US, several cases of people witnessing these strange things were reported. An investigation was held but no evidence was discovered. But recently, a new study has unveiled some strange findings about UFOs. It appears that the location where these UFOs are spotted might have a relation with the surrounding area.

A recent study by geography experts at the University of Utah unveiled an interesting discovery. They studied about 98,000 UFO sightings reported between 2001 and 2020. Their main aim was to understand the environmental conditions during these sightings. They considered factors like clouds, aeroplanes and how close military bases were at the time of the sightings.

The researchers noted that many UFO sightings occurred on clear nights. With less light pollution and fewer obstacles, like trees, it was easier to spot anything unusual in the sky. Interestingly, they found fewer reports of UFO sightings in areas with more trees.

The researchers also considered the chance that people might have mistaken aircraft or military operations for UFO sightings. They suggested that some sightings could be military aircraft or helicopters. Particularly, the military uses remote areas that nearby residents may not be aware of.

A noteworthy finding from the study is that the majority of UFO sightings happen in Western America. Due to fewer buildings, people in this area have clearer views of the sky. The study also looked into how city lights impact these sightings and how the presence of private aircraft and advanced sensors complicates identifying flying objects. Nevertheless, many of these cases haven’t been properly investigated.

As per the university’s statement, the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) was founded in July 2022. The AARO is described as the primary authority on unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), tasked with coordinating a comprehensive government response to the matter. The University of Utah has highlighted that historical and recent sightings of flying saucers are not uncommon. The study suggested that many of these sightings can be attributed to natural phenomena such as seeing the planet Venus, large satellites, or personal drones.
