'Not In Tihar': Perplexity AI CEO's Epic Response After X User Mistakes Him For Delhi CM
An X user tagged Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, mistaking his handle for Perplexity AI CEO Aravind Srinivas.

It is not everyday that random people are tagged as chief ministers out of the blue with grievances and complaints. However, this eventually became possible, thanks to social media and its hilarious outbursts. A man recently mistook Perplexity AI’s CEO Aravind Srinivas for none other than Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, sparking an epic response from the other end. It began when an X user, who goes by Nick Sheer, took to the microblogging platform to share his views about Perplexity AI, asking the CEO to keep it unbiased.

Instead of tagging Srinivas, Speer ended up mentioning Arvind Kejriwal, which led to a hilarious conversation on the platform. Reacting to the unintentional mix-up, Srinivas retweeted the same and added, “I am not in Tihar Jail right now,” as he took a dig at the Delhi CM’s recent arrest in connection to corruption charges in the alleged liquor policy scam.

Speer immediately realised his mistake and commented on the tweet with a laughing emoji. In the meantime, the post prompted a series of hilarious reactions from other social media users.

A user joked, “When Arvind Kejriwal becomes head of perplexity, everyone will get free 200 min of perplexity per month.”

Another quipped, “Arvind isn’t allowed to use his phone, you’d prolly have to visit him in person.”

A person wrote, “You can’t make this up if you wanted to.”

“Perplexity AI left us all perplexed,” a comment read.

Another user commented, “Lol, this is very funny!”

The comment section has been filled with laughing reactions from users, with over 3,00,000 views.

For those unaware, Aravind Srinivas is the co-founder and CEO of Perplexity AI, a free AI-powered answer engine that helps to provide accurate, trusted, and real-time answers to any sort of question. Based in San Francisco, he previously worked as an AI researcher at OpenAI and even at Google and DeepMind.

On the other hand, Arvind Kejriwal remains lodged in Tihar Jail following his arrest in regard to the discrepancies in the national capital’s now-scrapped liquor policy. His judicial custody has been extended. He is the first person to be arrested as a sitting chief minister.

Despite such major differences in profession and backgrounds, the two have one thing in common that seems to be the root of this social media confusion, i.e., their first names.

What's your reaction?
