If you are a daily user of Rapido bikes, this incident will shock you. A viral video circulating on Instagram shows a Rapido driver risking both his and his passenger’s life as he was captured watching YouTube by the passenger. The viral video has garnered up to 1.2 million views. Notably, there has been no statement from Rapido over the incident.

While heading to the airport at night, the clip shows the rider glued to his phone screen watching match highlights on YouTube shorts. The passenger gets anxious and nervously smiles at the camera while highlighting the rider’s risky behaviour. As the video progresses, we can see the rider even having a narrow escape with a pedestrian and a car parked on the side road. Adding a touch of humour, the passenger shared that he’s wearing an ‘Avengers’ helmet for his safety, but the situation is far from funny. Sharing the video on Instagram, the passenger wrote “Brother, drive while looking at the road. What are you doing, man? He is watching match highlights.” In the video, the user added, “POV: You took Rapido to the airport, rider is watching YouTube Shorts while riding.”

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “Once a Rapido driver asked me to drive because he was too drunk and couldn’t see the road properly.”

Another raised a valid query and asked, “Shouldn’t this be punishable? I mean he’s putting the passengers and people on the road’s life at risk.”

“You could have asked him to stop watching or get off and cancel the ride and book another one, please don’t risk your life by staying calm. Please address any kind of discomfort you feel in a ride,” a comment read.

Another jokingly wrote, “The best thing about this whole ride is the Avengers helmet.”

An individual shared, “One guy was playing some kind of rummy games on his mobile while driving.”

One more added, “I have never taken a Rapido and with the stories I hear, I am never taking one. And that helmet? No way.”

In June, another troubling incident involving a Rapido rider was reported by a Google software engineer. The woman shared that she suffered bruises on her hands and legs when her rider, who ignored traffic rules, collided with a car. Sharing the pictures of her injuries, the woman wrote, “Never taking a Rapido bike again.”
