Saraswathi Iyer, a well-known solo female traveller who shares her adventures on social media, recently recounted a shocking incident from her latest trip. During a journey on the road connecting Kolhapur to Pune, Iyer accepted a lift from a man that quickly turned into a nightmare. She described the harrowing experience in an Instagram video, stating, “It’s because of people like this that girls are afraid to travel.”

According to Iyer, the man made inappropriate advances shortly after she got into the vehicle, asking her to “make friendship” with him. Feeling uncomfortable, she immediately demanded to be let out of the car within minutes of boarding.

The video quickly spread across the internet, sparking a wave of reactions. One user commented, “Man… Really ? He has an alto… He is offering 50k? Probably you should keep recording audio continuously as long as you are around people … That way, nobody gets away on Technical grounds because you have full conversation recorded for the judge & jury!!!” Another added, “I don’t know why but most of time it’s just creepy uncles more than boys,” while the third said, “Maitri means friendship! But his intention doesn’t look good.”
