Sunrisers Hyderabad’s four-match winning run came to an end on Thursday. The Pat Cummins-led side were beaten by bottom-placed Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 35 runs. The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 fixture was played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Chasing a 207-run target, SRH managed to score 171 at the loss of eight wickets. For Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise owner Kavya Maran, it was a heartbreaking outing. At one point in the game, Kavya seemed infuriated and her reaction has now gone viral on social media. Of course, it has triggered a meme fest.

Batting first, Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted a solid total of 206 runs losing seven wickets. Virat Kohli was the highest scorer pulling off a fine knock of 51 off 43 balls.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, during the run chase, kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins felt that they had gone for a bit too much with the ball in the first innings.

“It was not an ideal night. We went a few runs over par with the ball and unfortunately lost a few wickets throughout our innings. We were gonna bat first, it seems to be working for us. Before the last few wins, we were thinking that we were a bowl-first team. But, it did not go our way,” Pat Cummins had said at the post-match presentation.

The win helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru move to four points from nine games. Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, are placed at the third spot in the IPL 2024 standings with 10 points from eight games.
