Secondly, your diet can significantly impact your body chemistry, which in turn affects how attractive you are to mosquitoes. Consuming sugary foods and alcohol can change your body’s scent, making it more inviting to these pests. Additionally, certain foods can influence your body temperature and metabolic rate, which also play a role in attracting mosquitoes.

Thirdly, body odour is the result of a mix of genetics, diet and overall health. Compounds like lactic acid and ammonia, which are produced by your body, are especially attractive to mosquitoes. Some people naturally produce less of these compounds, but others might become mosquito bait due to their dietary habits or underlying health conditions.

While a good metabolism is what we long for, it might be another reason why mosquitoes are attracted to you. People with higher metabolic rates produce more carbon dioxide, which mosquitoes can detect from a distance. If you’re naturally energetic or have a faster metabolism, you might find yourself attracting more of these winged nuisances.
