Days after thieves in Bengaluru robbed laptops and valuables by breaking the windows of cars, another incident came to the fore where a software engineer in Tamil Nadu fell victim to a brazen theft in broad daylight. The software engineer shared the CCTV footage with News18.com where a thief can be seen breaking the window of the car and quickly making off with his loot.
“We stopped for breakfast at the A2B restaurant near the Hosur toll gate. The parking attendant left their car in a secluded corner, despite having available spots closer to the restaurant entrance. But we didn’t question him and parked the vehicle where we were told to,” Bedant Goswami, 43, told News18.com.

He added, “We left some bags containing chargers, snacks, and clothes in the car since we thought it wouldn’t be long. After 45 minutes of breakfast, we returned to find the car window shattered.”
“Initially, we thought that someone broke the car’s window with a stone but later realised that the bags were missing,” Goswami further told News18.com.

In the CCTV footage accessed by News18.com, a man can be seen arriving on a two-wheeler. As the video goes on, he gets off his two-wheeler, waits for a couple of seconds and then removes his helmet. Towards the end of the video, he breaks the window of the parked Tata Nexon and grabs belongings before disappearing.

Goswami contacted the local police and briefed them about the incident. He couldn’t file an FIR into the case because of time constraints but an online complaint in the case has been filed.
