Indian families have the art of transforming any journey into a delightful experience and their love for home-cooked meals knows no bounds. Whether it’s trains, planes, picnics or exotic landscapes like beaches and mountains, they pack tiffins filled with daal, rice, roti and even farsan. Something similar was captured recently and the amusing video shows a Marwadi family of six, transforming their train compartment into a food haven, as they are seen enjoying multiple homemade meals throughout the day and night on the train. From disposable plates and spoons to a variety of dishes, they packed everything needed for a long journey. Additionally, they are even seen chopping fresh vegetables using knives.
The viral video shows a family treating the public transport as their home as they pass food items throughout the video. The food items include sandwiches, juice, guava, khakra, banana, puri, various gravies, cold drinks and packet of chips. While the video quickly gained popularity and garnered over 55 lakh views, it also sparked mixed opinions among social media users. Some resonated with the family’s unity, while others criticised such actions and expressed concerns about the mess in public spaces. Sharing the video on Instagram, the user wrote, “Marwadi logo ka train me safar. (Journey of Marwadi people by train).”

Reacting to the clip, a user wrote, “Those hardworking ladies, jo trip pe bhi sukoon nahi le pa rahi. (Those hardworking ladies can’t even find peace on a trip).”
Another appreciating them shared, “This is actually the best way to travel with family. I’m sure the aadmi log have also helped prepare and pack all of this.”
“You are very blessed if by any chance your ticket is with them. They provide their food to eat during the journey,” a comment read.
An individual wrote, “It’s not just a reel, it’s an emotion.”
Another added, “And the journey becomes hell for other passengers with constant passing around of food, nonstop, everyone scattered in other coups will come and sit in one coup where the main food container is kept and then trash littered all around the floor and lingering smell of garlic throughout the journey.”
One more wrote, “There will be trash everywhere in the train after they get down.”
An earlier Instagram viral video showed yet another Indian family enjoying a 3-course meal during a train journey. In the clip, family members were seen eating parathas accompanied by a dry gravy. It did not stop there as the family also packed fried masala rice and a spicy pickle. Sharing the video, the user wrote, “Trust me the food we have on the train tastes good with all the members of the family. The most important thing is that we pack the 3-course meal for our train journey.”
