A Zomato employee named Niharika fell prey to a prank by her co-workers after she stepped away from her desk, leaving her laptop unlocked.

Have you ever left your laptop unattended at work, only to return to a hilarious surprise? Recently, a Zomato employee became the target of a light-hearted prank when she stepped away from her desk, leaving her laptop unlocked. Seizing the opportunity, her mischievous co-worker crafted a message on her Slack account to make a fake wedding announcement. The message read, “Hey guys, sharing a life update, getting married in February. Please keep 5 PM free for a small brownie party.”

Sharing a screenshot of the message her co-workers sent out, the X user advised, “Never leave your laptop open at work.”

The prank went viral in no time, leaving the internet in stitches. It not only left social media users cracked up with a good belly laugh, but it also served as a cautionary message for employees: ‘Always lock your devices when stepping away from your desk!’

Take a look at the post below:

With more than 1 lakh views and over 2,000 likes, the video quickly caught the attention of social media users, sparking much amusement.

The internetcouldn’t help but laugh out loud at the clever prank. A majority of people shared similar stories they have experienced at their workplace, while others hailed the creativity of her co-workers.

The official handle of Flipkart joked, “Next they’ll make you order party supplies.”

“They used to do this at my first job too! If we left our laptops open, colleagues would prank each other like this. It was used as a strategy to ensure we locked our laptops and that client data was protected at all costs. Worked really well in shaping habits, tbh,” shared a user.

Another added, “They designed a wedding card in my case (I don’t know who Jessica is).”

“Lol, this happened to me as well. My colleagues even sent an email,” posted a user.

An individual suggested, “Have fun… Make memories out of them. Not all blessed with a fun team.”

“A senior of mine wrote ‘Namkeen pani me naha ke or bhi namkeen ho gya hu” from my team member’s laptop,” commented another.

Meanwhile, Niharika, the Zomato employee, took the prank in stride.

She “got the brownies” and updated the team with another Slack message, writing, “brownies are here, distributed across tables, please take. And manifest a good husband for me.”
