National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has come up with a unique opportunity for people who want to travel to space. According to reports, the selected candidates will not only get a chance to live there but will also be paid.
As per reports, a unique job has been created by NASA. Reportedly, the space organisation has been working on a plan to build houses for humans to live on Mars. To organise a trial run, the space agency will first build a fake house on Earth to give it the feel of Mars. This fake house will have humans kept and tested, and it is known as the Simulated Mars Habitat. It has been found that the organisation has been searching for participants to live in this house.
As per NASA, four people will live in the 1,700-square-foot Mars simulation house. The name of the mission is Crew Health and Performance Exploration Analogue (CHAPEA). It is housed in a 3D-printed Mars habitat at NASA’s Johnson Space Centre in Houston, Texas. This habitat, like real life on Mars, will have limited resources. In the simulation house, people will go on a simulated space walk and will have to maintain habitats, grow crops, and work with robotics.
It has been found that the ground mission will start in 2025, and the interested candidates will have time until April 2 to apply. As for eligibility, the age of the candidate should be between 30 and 55 years, and the person should be a US citizen or permanent resident of the country. Apart from that, the candidate should know English and be a non-smoker. Applicants must also have a master’s degree in a STEM course like engineering, mathematics, biology, or other sciences. They should also have professional experience or at least two years of doctoral work in these fields, or they must be trained under a pilot program. The stipend will also be decided once the candidate is eligible and selected.
