In the video, people are seen waiting for a few minutes and then asking the person who has thrown the petrol on the lock why it is not opening.

Social media is buzzing with a video that shows how some people have found a way to get into their houses by breaking the locks if they have misplaced their keys. The video, uploaded on Instagram, starts with a person throwing petrol on a lock from a bottle. Now, another person lightens a matchstick and burns the lock with it.

One of the individuals standing in the background can be heard saying there is no need to do anything and the lock will open by itself. People are seen waiting for a few minutes and then asking the person who has thrown the petrol on the lock why it is not opening. He assures everyone that the lock will surely open and brings a stone lying nearby. He then strikes the lock with this stone and it opens with just a single stroke. He also explained to the people that there is a plastic coating in the lock that melts after it comes into contact with the fire and then prompts the lock to open. The video has garnered more than 6 million views.

Social media users lauded the trick used to break the locks but said that it could be used for theft and burglary. One of the users humorously wrote that these people are preparing for the next season of the thriller series Money Heist. Money Heist is a crime drama television series that revolves around an unusual group of robbers who attempt to execute the most perfect robbery in Spanish history – stealing 2.4 billion euros from the Royal Mint of Spain.

The person who devised this trick to break the lock had requested the viewers not to use this idea for committing wrongdoings. They can use it in case their keys get lost and they have no other option to get into their houses.

There are many other ways to open the locks like the drilling, screw, rod technique, etc. The drill destroys the internal components of the lock and renders it unfair for future use. After the drilling, the lock and other parts of the door will have to be replaced.
