However, a recently viral wedding video on social media has captured a rather unconventional and humorous twist as an old lover successfully manages to steal the bride right from the stage.

In the video posted on Instagram by the account @appanmaithili01, the scene unfolds at a wedding where the bride and groom are seated on the jaymala stage, surrounded by the joyous celebration of their union. Initially appearing to be a typical wedding video capturing a tender moment between the newlyweds, the unexpected takes place. An older man emerges from behind the bride’s chair and proceeds to apply sindoor (vermilion) multiple times on her forehead. Astonishingly, the groom remains blissfully unaware of this clandestine act transpiring right beside him.

Throughout the peculiar incident, the bride seems to be observing the real groom, and suddenly, she decides to make a getaway mid-wedding, leaving the groom and the jubilant guests oblivious to her sudden departure. The caption accompanying the video states, “In Bihar’s Sitamadi District, the bride’s lover came and applied sindoor on her.” Despite the shocking nature of the video, some users questioned its authenticity, with comments suggesting that such clips might be staged for likes and entertainment.

One user remarked, “These videos are made for likes only,” while another expressed scepticism, stating, “Yes, brother, this is acting.” A third user sympathised with the groom, stating, “The groom got wronged.” Despite the scepticism, the video has garnered over 200k likes and an astonishing 21 million views on the platform.

The brides, adorned in traditional attire, were captured touching the groom’s feet to seek his blessings in a ceremony that caught the attention of online viewers.
