An avid lover of the Festival of Colours, Virat Kohli was spotted celebrating Holi with his Indian teammates last year. Watch the old video inside.

With the return of the Holi fever, India is currently preparing to celebrate one of the biggest festivals in the nation. Amid the preparations, a video from last year has resurfaced on social media showcasing how Virat Kohli and the company celebrated the Festival of Colours back in 2023. In the clip, Kohli can be seen rocking a peach-coloured sleeveless T-shirt while being completely covered in colours as he approaches Shubman Gill. Next, the ever-enthusiastic ace batter started grooving beside Gill while singing the lyrics ‘Baby Calm Down’ from a song that had gone viral last year. The duo were then joined by a joyous Rohit Sharma who tossed some colours towards Kohli’s direction. This energetic and jolly side of the ace Indian batter has won the hearts of Indian fans once again.

Virat Kohli, alongside his compatriots, is currently competing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. Representing the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Kohli played the tournament opener against Chennai Super Kings yesterday, March 22, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk. The former RCB skipper had a rather underwhelming start to the 17th edition of IPL having scored just 21 runs in 20 balls. As a result, RCB were able to put up only 173 runs on the board while losing six wickets. In the second half, a debuting Rachin Ravindra spearheaded CSK’s chase by smashing 37 runs in just 15 deliveries. This enabled the defending champions to pick up the win by six wickets and eight balls left.

RCB will be playing their next fixture against the Punjab Kings on Monday, March 25. It is the same day when the festival of Holi will be celebrated across the country. Given RCB’s poor start to their campaign, it remains to be seen if Kohli will produce a special Holi bash against his opponents next week.

As for Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma, the duo are yet to play their opening game of the IPL 2024 season. Gill and Rohit will clash tomorrow, March 24, as the Gujarat Titans prepare to take on the Mumbai Indians. Gill has assumed the role of captain this season with his former skipper Hardik Pandya’s departure to MI. In Rohit’s case, the six-time IPL winner was succeeded as captain of the MI squad for the 2024 season by Pandya. It remains to be seen if this shift in captaincy will turn out to be a good decision for the Mukesh Ambani-owned franchise.
