The BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi celebrated the Janmashtami festival over a period of four days with thousands of devotees flocking to the temple to celebrate the auspicious festival. The temple authorities said that over 5,000 people attended the Janmashtami festival on August 26.
In a press release, the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi announced that over 500 devotees attended the Shrimad Bhagvat Parayan from August 23 to August 25. At the Shrimad Bhagvat Parayan, swamis from BAPs led the recitations and reflections from the Shrimad Bhagvat.
Temple authorities said that many members of the Indian community in the UAE took part in the celebrations as they attended kirtan bhakti programs and sang devotional songs.
BAPS said that over 1,200 devotees attended the main Janmashtami celebration in the evening that began with Ashtami Puja, followed by kirtan bhakti performances and a keynote address by Brahmaviharidas Swami.
“He highlighted the significance of Janmashtami and the essence of true devotion to Bhagwan Shri Krishna. He explored the various observances of the festival and emphasized that the essence of Janmashtami lies in embodying Bhagwan Shri Krishna’s virtues and leading a life by them,” the BAPS authorities said in a press release, describing the theme of Brahmaviharidas Swami’s speech.
“He discussed how faith strengthens us during difficulties and recounted the journey of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi as a symbol of resilience, illustrating that with steadfast love and belief even the most formidable challenges can be overcome. This devotion, exemplified by Pramukh Swami Maharaj, inspires devotees to live with courage and perseverance,” the press release quoted him as saying.
