British Royals Kate Middleton and Prince William were deeply touched by the outpouring of support they have received from people worldwide following the announcement of Kate’s cancer diagnosis, a spokesperson for Kensington Palace said in a statement.
The royal couple also expressed their gratitude for the kind messages and appreciated the warmth shown by the public in their difficult times.
“The Prince and Princess are both enormously touched by the kind messages from people here in the UK, across the Commonwealth and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness’ message,” the statement read.
The statement also stated that the royal couple are “extremely moved” by the public’s “warmth and support” and are “grateful” for being understanding of their request for privacy as Kate receives treatment.
On Friday, 42-year-old Kate, in a video message, broke the news that she is undergoing preventative chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer following abdominal surgery.
The news came as a shock to her and her family, but the Princess of Wales said she remains positive and is getting stronger every day.
Soon after her video message, massive support outpoured for her from around the world, with hashtags such as ‘WeLoveYouCatherine’ and ‘GetWellSoonCatherine’ trending on X, formerly Twitter.
Several political leaders, celebrities and cancer survivors also sent messages of support to the Princess of Wales.
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and US President Joe Biden were among the global leaders who showed support for Kate Middleton.
King Charles III, who is also undergoing his cancer treatment, expressed pride in his daughter-in-law’s courage. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also sent their well wishes to Kate for her health and healing.
French President Emmanuel Macron wrote on X: “In this difficult period you are going through, Brigitte and I wish you a full recovery. “Your strength and resilience inspire us all.”
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wrote: “On behalf of Canadians, I’m sending my support as she undergoes treatment. We’re all wishing her a swift recovery.”
Actor Olivia Munn, who recently revealed her breast cancer diagnosis, also expressed support to the Princess of Wales’. “Thank you for showing what it’s like to fight with grace and determination for yourself and your family. Wishing you all the best,” she wrote.
Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis slammed those spreading conspiracy theories about Kate.
Earlier, the palace said Kate would not attend royal duties until after the Easter holidays but since the cancer announcement on Friday, a palace spokesperson said that the Princess of Wales would return to duties “her medical team clears her to do so,” People reported.
