New Entrants For The 2024 Royal Rumble Announced By WWE

With the WWE Royal Rumble 2024 right around the corner, we slowly edge closer towards the Road to WrestleMania. Amid the hype, WWE decided to add a couple of new entrants for one of their most awaited matches. During the WWE 2024 Preview show, it was revealed that Becky Lynch and Shinsuke Nakamura would also be heading into the battle royal matches. WWE Royal Rumble is one of the company’s longest and most-watched wrestling events. The pay-per-view features a signature 30-wrestler battle royal, winning which will enable you to headline WrestleMania for a title match. This year’s Royal Rumble event is set to go down at Tropicana Field on January 27th.

WWE’s official account on X confirmed the addition of both Becky Lynch and Shinsuke Nakamura to the Royal Rumble matches. In their post, they mentioned, “BREAKING: As revealed on WWE 2024 Preview Special on @peacock, @BeckyLynchWWE & @ShinsukeN have both declared for their respective #RoyalRumble matches!” Before this announcement, only CM Punk and Cody Rhodes had been revealed for the men’s Royal Rumble match. Cody Rhodes made WWE history after winning the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble match to challenge Roman Reigns for his undisputed Universal Championship. The final four of that edition of the men’s Royal Rumble match included Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Logan Paul and GUNTHER. Rhodes put away Logan Paul in the final two to seal his place at WrestleMania 39. He next faced Reigns in an intense affair but eventually lost to the Samoan in one of the greatest finals in the industry’s history. Whereas, in women’s action Rhea Ripley became the first woman to win the women’s Royal Rumble from the number one spot in 2023. She last eliminated Liv Morgan, who entered the match at number two.

With some earth-shattering returns towards the end of 2023, WWE has some prime candidates who could potentially win the upcoming men’s Royal Rumble event. CM Punk is going to be the bookmakers’ favourite to win the competition this year. The Chicago-born wrestler made an unexpected return to the company at WWE Survivor Series 2023. He later appeared on RAW to let the people know that he returned to earn some money and not make friends. With all the hype surrounding Punk, the company would likely be pushing him towards the main event of WrestleMania. On the other hand, Randy Orton has been around in the WWE for decades and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the wrestler win a third Royal Rumble match in his career.
