It has been nearly four years since The Undertaker bid adieu to professional wrestling. The WWE Hall of Famer drew curtains on his illustrious career on a positive note.

In his final official fight, The Undertaker thrashed AJ Styles in a critically acclaimed Boneyard match at WrestleMania 36 in 2020.

During a recent Q&A session on his Six Feet Under Patreon page, The Deadman made an astonishing revelation that would certainly send many fans on a nostalgic trip.

The Undertaker might have engaged in several high-voltage rivalries throughout his career but never got the opportunity to face off against Steve Borden aka Sting, who recently hung up his wrestling boots.

If the battle could ever happen, many feel it would have become one of the most enthralling clashes in WWE history. The Undertaker perhaps also reckons the same. While speaking in the Q&A session, the 58-year-old said he might have considered a return to pro wrestling if Sting had not announced his retirement at the AEW Revolution a few days ago.

“Well, I mean, if Sting hadn’t retired, maybe. He ruined the whole thing. I got new knees and he went and had to go and retire. Oh my gosh, we’re going to get so much heat for that,” the Undertaker said, as quoted by Ringside News.

The Phenom further recalled that he revealed the idea of making an in-ring return to his wife Michelle McCool during a return trip from Australia. He, however, later backed off, perhaps considering his current age and health condition.

“It’s still tough for me. I’m still coming to grips with it. I may or may not have said to my wife recently that I was going to make a comeback. Fortunately, I think I’ve talked myself out of that. I just got back from Australia. I was tired and I knew I had a lot of stuff coming up and that was me just feeling comfortable saying it. That’s the only thing I do know. Don’t expect it.” the Undertaker explained.

Referring to his decision to retire, the Deadman said, “I knew my time had come, but I wasn’t ready for it to come. I just knew that my body couldn’t deliver what my mind and my heart wanted to give the fans. So it was kind of difficult. You have to remember that, for over half of my life, being in the ring is what I did.”

About The Undertaker’s dream opponent Sting, the 64-year-old has seen off the ring on a triumphant note. In his last match at the AEW Revolution, the pair of Sting and Darby Allin retained the World Tag Team Championship by defeating The Young Bucks featuring Matthew and Nicholas Jackson.
