WWE Royal Rumble 2024: Cody Rhodes Stands Tall to Script History, Roman Reigns Defends Universal Title

Cody Rhodes made headlines at the year’s first WWE pay-per-view spectacle as he emerged victorious in the 30-man Royal Rumble fixture on Sunday at the Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.

With his feat, Rhodes became the first man in over a quarter of a century to win the main event at the Royal Rumble two years on the trot, following his victory at the event last year too.

The victory at the special event entitles Rhodes to pick either Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins to challenge for their titles at the upcoming WWE Wrestlemania.

Logan Paul beats Kevin Owens:

The United States Championship was on the line as Logan Paul took on Kevin Owens in a high-stakes encounter, which could have gone either way as both contestants traded blows before an untimely interference from Paul’s entourage.

Austin Theory and Greyson Waller distracted the referee as Paul looked to sneak in the brass knuckles. However, Owens gains possession of the knuckles and knocks Paul out to secure a pinfall, but the referee spots the illegal weapon and awards the bout to Paul as he defended his title.

Roman Reigns defends Universal Title:

In another mouthwatering Fatal-Fourway clash between Randy Orton, LA Knight, AJ Styles and Roman Reigns, the Tribal Chief managed to retain his title and defend the belt against all odds.

Orton, Knight and Styles ganged up on the champion before they turned their attention to each other. There were finishers flying around all over the place before an interference from Solo Sikoa turned things on its head in the entertaining bout.

Despite the interference, the match dragged on as Styles went for weapons from under the ring as the fight moved out of the ring with Orton and Styles taking each other out.

Knight comes back into the ring where he finds Reigns, who finished thing off with a Superman punch for a pin.

Bayley wins women’s royal rumble:

In yet another enticing bout that involved 30 female superstars including the likes of Becky Lynch, Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair, Natalya, Nia Jax and many more, Bayley emerged victorious to seal her ticket to Wrestlemania.

Bayley walked in at number three out of the thirty women’s pool and endured throughout the bout to claim a famous win.

Bayley will now have the option of challenging either Iyo Sky or Rhea Ripley in the Wrestlemania for a shot at the gold.
