The much spoken about BMW X5, codenamed F15 has finally launched in India at a price of Rs 70.9 lakh ex-showroom, pan-India. With deliveries expected as soon as next week, the latest X5 is expected to make an exciting debut in the Indian market.

Launched only with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine variant, more variants are expected to be added by BMW in the coming months.

The new X5 comes quite a few design updates as well as changes in the interiors. Added to it are BMW's LED lights and the 3 Series inspired kidney-grille which enhances its looks. Another noticeable addition are the 'air curtains' which are meant to improve the aerodynamics of the SUV.

Though the newest X5 is a tad bit larger in size than its predecessor, BMW have managed to keep the bulk to the minimum through its brilliant weight control measures. Available in five and seven seat options, the interiors look fresh and yet classy.

The 3.0 litre straight six turbocharged diesel engine delivers 258PS of power and 560Nm torque distributed to all wheels, which takes the overall driving experience to a higher level.

With a top speed of 230 kmph, the F15 is fitted with a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox and delivered 15.5kmpl on our highway fuel economy test.
