BBC Says Top Gear's Season 23 Getting Poor Viewership; Chris Evans Thinks Different
Top Gear's second episode of season 23 had 1.6 million less views, as compared to the first episode.

BBC’s Top Gear had been the talking point among car enthusiasts around the world ever since Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May parted ways with the show and the company announced that they will continue with the series.

This announcement meant that they will have to bring new faces to the show to fill in the space left by the original trio, a tough task, as Top Gear loyalists said. When the new season started with Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc on board, it received 4.3 million views. Now, according to BBC, the season’s second episode’s views were a whopping 1.6 million views less, as compared to the first one.

The show received much flak among the fans, as they were not happy with the show’s new hosts and that could be the reason for the decline in views.

Chris Evans, one of the current presenters of Top Gear, took to Twitter to express that the show was instead a hit with the viewers.

Whatever the case may be, the show has been under intense scrutiny and only time will tell whether the audience accepts the new presenters of Top Gear, or if BBC replaces them following the steep decline in views.
