Nissan Motor India celebrated a major achievement in August 2024, hitting 1.5 lakh total sales of the Nissan Magnite since its debut in December 2020.
This month also saw the highest wholesale dispatches of the year, with 10,624 units shipped. This includes 8,361 units for export and 2,263 units for the domestic market.
This record-breaking figure for August represents the highest monthly export volume Nissan India has seen in the past five years and marks a significant milestone for the brand. Despite industry challenges, the Nissan Magnite’s performance stands out, aligning with Nissan’s ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ philosophy.
In terms of growth, domestic wholesale saw a modest Year-over-Year (YoY) increase of 0.2 percent and a notable Month-over-Month (MoM) rise of 12.5 percent. Export wholesale, however, surged with a 336 percent YoY increase and a 91 percent MoM growth for August 2024.
Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, commented, “The Nissan Magnite is proof that a robust platform, timeless product, and enhanced customer centricity can continue to deliver consistent outcomes, which is evident in the 1.5 lakh milestone that Nissan has crossed this month.”
Since its launch, the Nissan Magnite has captivated customers both in India and abroad. It embodies Nissan’s ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ ethos, blending Japanese design excellence with efficient local production.
To support its growth, Nissan Motor India has been expanding its network, recently adding locations in Bengaluru, Srinagar, Salem, Delhi, and Durgapur. The company now operates 273 touchpoints and aims to surpass 300 by the end of the fiscal year.
The Magnite is now exported to over 17 global markets, with recent entries into Seychelles, Bangladesh, Uganda, and Brunei, and a strong presence in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
