Stellantis' CEO hinted that the conglomerate has considered removing Maserati as it is not generating any profits.

The premium Italian car brand Maserati, which is owned by the Stellantis Group, is expected to be cut off from it soon. The report says that the group might be sold off Maserati, and hand over all the operations to other manufacturers.

The company has not released any official details about the same as yet. However, Stellantis’ CEO hinted that the conglomerate has considered removing Maserati as it is not generating any profits.

He also blamed the the company’s downfall by removing some of its top-notch models such as Ghibli, Quattroporte and Levante. Natalie Knight said, “The first half has been disappointing. The future is about how we maintain the best value. There could be some point in the future when we look at what’s the best home for Maserati, as reported by Team Bhp.

Messerati has been ruling the luxury car segment for years. The legendary Modena-based high-performance carmaker has introduced some top-notch models, which dominated the segment effortlessly. The brand somehow failed to generate decent sales figures and attract the masses globally.

Sales Report in 2023-2024

Maserati has reported a massive decline in sales this year, dropping the numbers by 50 percent globally. The company has managed to sell 6,500 units between January to June, this year. These numbers have decreased by more than half as compared to the same period last year, where it has sold over 15,300 units in just six months.

The company now has been listed as a non-profitable entity, which is why it will be shortly removed from the Stellantis group soon. It is not confirmed how long it will remain connected to the brand.
