Bollywood is known to make Hindi remakes of South Indian superhits. Most of the time they become a hit as well. According to new reports, filmmaker-producer Karan Johar has proposed to buy the rights of the Kannada film, Sapta Saagaradaache Ello. The film has been a superhit among the Kannada-speaking audience. As per the reports, the film franchise Sapta Saagaradaache Ello Side A and B has piqued the interest of Karan Johar. He reportedly wants the director of the original film, Hemanth Rao, to direct it. Hemanth Rao has not yet given the green light to the proposal, as he has to take in a lot of factors regarding the making of the film, reports state further.
Sapta Saagaradaache Ello – Side A was released on September 1, 2023, while Side- B was released on November 17, 2023. Directed by Hemanth M Rao, the cast of the film includes Rakshit Shetty and Rukmini Vasanth as the protagonists. It is produced by Rakshit Shetty, under the production of Paramvah Studios. Charan Raj is the music composer for the film. The cinematographer of the film is Advaitha Gurumurthy, while the editing was under Sunil S Bharadwaj and Hemanth M Rao. Upon its release, the film gained positive reviews from the critics and was a success at the box-office.
The producer and the protagonist of the film Rakshit Shetty, made his debut in acting through the film Nam Areal Ond Dina in 2010, as a second lead. He gained recognition from the film Simple Agi Ondh Love Story, which came out in 2013. It was directed by Simple Suni, and Rakshit Shetty was seen opposite Shwetha Srivatsav.
As a filmmaker, Rakshit made his directorial debut with the film Ulidavaru Kandanthe, in 2014. For the film, he was given the Filmfare Award South for Best Director, and the Karnataka State Film Award for debut director.
