Mammootty-starrer Kaathal: The Core’s Trailer Promises A Gripping Legal Drama

Actors Mammootty and Jyothika are two stalwarts in the realm of South cinema. They have entertained the audience with their unparalleled talent and grace. They are now all set to rule the screens with their next Malayalam box-office offering titled Kaathal – The Core. Jeo Baby has directed this movie. Mammootty Kampany, the film’s production house, recently unveiled the trailer of this movie. The trailer gives an insight into the life of Mathew Devassy (Mammootty), who gears up to contest a by-election in Ward 3. He describes himself as a person who doesn’t speak much. Mathew gets embroiled in legal trouble following the election. He is facing troubles within his family as well and he is not on talking terms with his wife Omana (Jyotika). This is evident by Mathew’s voice being heard in the background, “It’s been almost 20 years since we got married. What more is left to discuss now?" The trailer has garnered more than 1 million views. This film will be released at the cinema halls on November 23.

Social media users appreciated the trailer, particularly due to Jyotika’s acting prowess. One of them commented, “I loved how Jyotika didn’t utter a word but conveyed everything through her eyes – the disappointment, sadness, and numbness." Another commented, “Most promising trailer. This will be another hit. All the best for the entire team for great success". Muthumani, Adarsh Sukumaran, Lalu Alex, and others have acted in this movie. Kaathal- The Core’s technical crew includes cinematographer Salu K Thomas, editor Francies Louis, and composer Mathews Pulickan. Adarsh Sukumaran and Paulson Skaria have written this movie. Wayfarer Films has taken charge of this movie’s distribution. Kaathal –The Core marks Mammootty and Jyotika’s first film together.

Kaathal The Core’s director Jeo talked about this film in an exclusive interview with The Times of India. He said," It is for the first time that I am working on a script that is not my own. But I heard the story and liked it and felt that it would be good if Mammukka played the lead and he too liked it. We were considering options for his wife and Mammukka suggested Jyotika and she too, liked the story and said yes".
