Having taken down Pakistan at home, Australia are now set to host a two-match Test series against the West Indies next. The Aussies whitewashed Pakistan 3-0 in their previous Test series. In their final game, Australia bagged an eight-wicket victory. The match saw a couple of great knocks from Marnus Labuchange. Whereas, on the bowling front, skipper Pat Cummins was unstoppable as he scalped a total of six wickets across the two innings. The World Test Champions will now be looking to extend their winning run over the Windies next.
Australia will face the West Indies at Adelaide Oval on January 17 in the opening Test. West Indies last played a Test series back in July against India. They lost the opening match by an innings and 141 runs. In the second match, a brilliant century from Virat Kohli enabled India to put up 438 runs. While West Indies only managed 255 runs in their first batting innings. India next put up another 181 runs before declaring the innings but the match was finally abandoned during West Indies’ second batting due to rainfall, leading to a draw.
Coming back to the upcoming series, it will be quite hard for the West Indies to manage a victory on Australian soil.
