One among the countless who are looking forward to the clash is none other than former India cricketer Varun Aaron.

Aaron, who has played for RCB in the past, spoke about the rivalry and also on how charged up Virat Kohli would be for the match against KKR.

“I’m looking forward to the match up outside the boundary line. Gautam Gambhir is going to be at the boundary line right beside the RCB dugout, don’t know what’s going to happen there, I think, you know how Virat is, he likes to have some fire all the time, and if he just looks at the KKR dugout, he’s just going to be fired up,” said Aaron whilst speaking exclusively to Star Sports on Cricket Live.

The now-infamous rivalry was birthed all the way back in 2013 in Bengaluru, when Gambhir and Kohli had a go at each other verbally before tensions started flaring high, and the two had to be physically separated by Rajat Bhatia.

Time then passed. But, it was three years later when one of the two would ignite their passions again. In a thrilling come-from-behind win for KKR, it was Yusuf Pathan and Andre Russell who did all the dirty work out on the crease. As a result, Gambhir then showed his emotions by kicking a chair in the dugout, an act for which he was fined 15% of his match fee.

But, the most recent instance of just last season, when the duo faced off during RCB’s encounter with Gambhir’s LSG, offering the two an opportunity to have yet another heated face-off once again.

What shall come out of the rivalry next? Well, we might have an opportunity to witness it all today as RCB take on KKR in Bengaluru.

What's your reaction?
