Team India completed the whitewash of Bangladesh with a 133-run win over the visitors on Saturday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The men in blue posted a total of 297 runs thanks to Sanju Samson’s ton and Suryakumar’s half-century before limiting the Bangla Tigers to just 164 runs.
Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi proved to be the wrecker-in-chief with the ball in hand as he picked up a three-fer, which also took his T20I wicket tally beyond the 50-wicket mark.
“Feeling great with this small milestone,” the spinner said after the victory.
Bishnoi removed Bangla skipper Najmul Shanto, Liton Das and Rishad Hossain to dismantle the Bangladesh chase.
Bishnoi became the youngest Indian to breach the 50-wicket mark in T20Is and also only the joint-second-quickest Indian to reach the milestone.
Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav required just 30 games to pick up 50 T20I wickets, while Arshdeep and Bishnoi scaled the milestone in 33 games.
Bishnoi was rested for the first two games of the series but returned in style with his spin on Saturday.
He touched upon the benefits healthy competition for spot within the side has and also the credits of observing cricket from outside the field of play.
“It is good pressure when you have healthy competition in the team. I wanted to make the most of this opportunity,” the spinner said.
He also talked about the necessity to work on your own game in the fast-paced world of cricket.
“It feels good to see the game from the outside as well. You need to work on yourself and work on things accordingly,” he explained.
“I had a break for a few days, so I tried to make the most of it,” he reflected on his time on the sidelines.
