Gill has already established himself as a key member of India’s ODI setup after being part of the side that went all the way to the final in the 2023 World Cup at home.
Now he continues his pursuit of becoming the next big all-format batting star since Virat Kohli. He has taken over Cheteshwar Pujara in the Test side at the number three spot, and will likely be part of the T20I setup following Rohit Sharma and Kohli’s retirements.

Gill has already captained the T20I side during their tour of Zimbabwe in July 2024. He is also the designated captain of the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League as well.
Taking up so much responsibility at this age, he continues to prove why he is one of India’s stars for the future in the post-Rohit and Kohli era.
Currently, Gill is leading the India A side in the Duleep Trophy 2024 tournament. He was not able to get a big score under his belt as he got dismissed after getting a decent start.

India A on the other hand look to be on track to picking up a loss in their opening game against India B as they have three more wickets remaining in the fixture at present and have no more specialist batters left on the field.
