New Zealand announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup on April 28. The team will be led by Kane Williamson, who is set to make his fourth appearance at the showpiece event as the captain of the Black Caps. The Kiwis look to have kept faith in experienced players. The veteran duo of Tim Southee and Trent Boult will spearhead the pace attack. Both speedsters have already played at least five T20 World Cups during their decorated career.

Another first-team pacer, Adam Milne, has been ruled out of the tournament due to an ankle injury that will require surgery. He also skipped the recent tour of Pakistan. Rachin Ravindra and Adam Milne are the only players in the New Zealand squad who will make their T20 World Cup debut this year. Ravindra is expected to open the innings alongside Devon Conway, who has been recovering from a thumb injury.

The wicketkeeper-batter has failed to complete in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Conway, however, has travelled to India to cheer for his team Chennai Super Kings. He has already returned to training and looks promising to become fully fit ahead of the T20 World Cup.
New Zealand will miss the services of Kyle Jamieson, who has been struggling with a lower back stress fracture. Finn Allen, who missed the Pakistan series recently due to a back issue, has found a place in the T20 World Cup squad. The Black Caps have roped in Ben Sears as a travelling reserve.
New Zealand are set to clash against Afghanistan, West Indies, Papua New Guinea and Uganda at the group stage.
