‘Until We See You Again,’ Mumbai Indians Share Emotional Clip Following WPL 2024 Elimination
Mumbai Indians have exited the WPL 2024 after losing to Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator.

Mumbai Indians have shared a heartwarming video on social media revealing the locker room scenes after their loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 Eliminator.

MI took on RCB in a playoff game on March 15 for a spot against Delhi Capitals in the final of the tournament. After an epic battle, MI were narrowly edged out by their opponents as they lost the game by five runs. Following the defeat, the head coach of the MI women’s squad Charlotte Edwards was spotted sharing hugs with her players in the locker room.

During an emotional speech, Edwards motivated her players to remain strong till they met again next season. The clip was shared by MI on Instagram where they followed up the coach’s words by saying, “Aye-aye, Lottie. Until we see you again”.

RCB and MI squared off at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The match began with RCB winning the toss and electing to bat first.

Ellyse Perry was the player who anchored the innings for RCB, scoring 66 runs off 50 balls. Her innings helped RCB put up a total of 135 runs. Hayley Matthews, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Saika Ishaque picked up two wickets each for MI.

During the run chase, Harmanpreet Kaur led from the front scoring 33 runs off 30 balls but it just was not enough to seal a win for her side.

MI entered the second season of the WPL as the defending champions of the competition. They took the tournament’s inaugural edition by storm, winning six of the eight games they played. MI beat the UP Warriorz in the playoff match to book their place in the final against DC. The title clash proved to be a rather one-sided affair as MI clinched a dominant victory by seven wickets.

With MI out of contention, the WPL 2024 will see the coronation of new queens in the T20 extravaganza. The highly anticipated final will take place on March 17 between DC and RCB on Sunday, March 17. The WPL 2024 summit clash will be hosted at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
