Virat Kohli Flaunts Fluent Bengali as Mehidy Hasan Gifts Indian Cricket Star a Bat; Rohit Sharma Too Has a Special Message
Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz presented bats to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Indian stars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were presented with bats by Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz recently.

Kohli was even heard speaking bangla during the interaction as Miraz gifted him the bat.

Khoob bhalo achi (it’s very good),” Kohli was heard saying in a viral video.

“Very good bat, keep doing the good work. You make very good-quality bats. Continue this work and provide cricketers with quality bats,” Kohli added.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz also presented a bat to Rohit Sharma, as the Indian captain said: “I’ve known Mehidy for a long time. He is a very good cricketer, and I am proud of him for starting his own bat company with some friends. I wish him all the best; may God grant him success. I hope this company rises above the rest.”

India routed Bangladesh by seven wickets in the second Test for a dominating 2-0 triumph.

India’s record-extending 18th consecutive test series victory on home soil was never in doubt after their 280-run romp in the series opener in Chennai.

But after two and half days were lost to bad weather in Kanpur, a draw seemed the likely outcome.

It was one of the most exhilarating performances by the Indian team despite losing more than 200 overs of play with two days of complete wash-out. The outright victory consolidated India’s pole position in the ICC World Test Championship Table (WTC) with 74.24 percentage points.

India have not lost a match to Bangladesh in Test cricket and the fact that they won this contest in a mere six sessions after losing two full days to rain, speaks volumes of the gulf between the two teams.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, were brought down to earth after their memorable 2-0 series win in Pakistan last month.

India will play a three-test home series against New Zealand beginning on Oct. 16.
