Matheesha Pathirana was at his absolute best as he managed to deliver two toe-crushing yorkers to pick up two wickets in the 15th over to put the home side, Delhi Capitals under massive pressure with the death overs approaching. \

The slinger went to his trademark delivery, the yorker and unleashed it to get rid of the Australian top-order batter, Mitchell Marsh on 18 off 12 deliveries. He beat the batter with pace as his delivery went up to the 150 kph mark as it went and crashed onto the stumps.

Tristan Stubbs, the South African all-rounder walked into bat. He went for the classic yorker delivery once again which got the better of the youngster as he was also beaten for pace.

Pathirana has had a stellar first-innings performance as he managed to get the wicket of DC’s skipper Rishabh Pant who looked to be at his blistering best to make it three in the evening.

Before his bowling, he also managed to pick up a stunning catch at third-man to get rid of David Warner who played a fine knock to bring up a fifty to give the home side the perfect start they needed.

Pathirana’s performances will serve CSK in good stead as they will continue to rely on his abilities in the death as the franchise looks to go for yet another title and take the lead as the most successful franchise. And if the team can do so, then it is very likely that the express pacer will have a big role to play.

CSK will look to maintain their undefeated record as they look to secure their first away win against the Delhi Capitals at Vizag. But that will prove to be a tough task as only one side has managed to win away from home in the current season.
