Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has recently launched 31 new online courses for the academic session 2024-25. The courses are all set to commence on July 22. Out of the 31 courses, 28 are of 12-week duration, while the rest of the three are of eight-week duration. The new courses which have been introduced in the University are Business Tourism, Data Science using Python, Database Management Systems, Geology Fundamentals, Environmental Studies, Hindi Language Comprehension, International Relations and Studies in Theatre. The recently-introduced 31 new online courses have been designed by keeping in mind the needs of the students across the country. The courses have been carefully crafted by the Department of Computer Science of Aligarh Muslim University in collaboration with the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. These are funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The reason the university has been further getting attention is that all these 31 courses are free.
Despite being a free course, you will get a certificate after its completion. These courses have been launched by Aligarh Muslim University on Swayam Portal. You will get the certificate only if you meet the necessary conditions which are-
25 per cent of the given assignments should be complete. If there are 12 assignments, then the best eight should be completed to get a certificate of completion of the course It is important to score at least 75 per cent in the examinations.
What Are the Fees for the Course?
Students can enrol for any of the online courses launched by Aligarh Muslim University on the Swayam Portal and pay no fees. The courses are free.
Aligarh Muslim University is a public central university located in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. It was established by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan as the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College in 1875. In 1920, the college’s name was changed to Aligarh Muslim University following its Act.
