NCPA Announces Scholarships For Young Musicians; Know Last Day To Apply
The scholarship for training in Hindustani music applies to candidates belonging to the age group of 18-35 years across India.

The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) and Citi India jointly announced a scholarship programme to encourage young talent to actively participate in advanced training in the field of Hindustani Music (vocal khayal / dhrupad, melody instruments Sitar, Sarod, Violin, Flute, Harmonium, etc). The NCPA and Citi India have consistently been working towards promoting various initiatives in the field of Indian and Western Classical Music.

The scholarship for training in Hindustani music applies to candidates belonging to the age group of 18-35 years across India. Candidates can apply for the scholarship until January 10. The value of the scholarship is Rs. 10,000/- per month and will be available for two years. Years.

How To Apply For The CITI-NCPA Performing Arts Scholarship

To apply, candidates must send in their application which includes bio-data on music education, via an email to [email protected]. For those who want to send an offline application marked to Citi – NCPA Scholarship for Young Musicians 2020-21 (Hindustani Music)’, they can send the same to The National Centre for the Performing Arts, NCPA Marg, Nariman Point, Mumbai 400021 on or before December 31, 2019.

The application must contain details like the candidate’s name, date of birth, address, contact number, professional qualification, email ID, music teachers/gurus, number of years of total training, along with the details of achievements/prizes/scholarships and performances. A bio-data containing all details in the listing format is a must while applying for the scholarship.

Candidates’ Selection

Candidates who will be shortlisted for the scholarship will be informed via email or telephone. Those who are selected will need to appear at the NCPA, Mumbai, for an audition which will be organized in February. The decision taken by the NCPA Selection Committee will be final.
