UP Govt Releases List of School Holidays For 2024, Schools to Remain Closed For 118 Days
All government, council, government-aided secondary and basic schools of Agra district and all the board-recognized secondary and council schools will remain closed tomorrow

As the cold wave continues in North India, school-going children are facing problems. The District Magistrate of Agra has declared a holiday tomorrow, January 2 in all the schools of the district due to cold wave. District Magistrate Bhanu Chandra Goswami had also announced a holiday across schools in Agra for today, January 1, 2024. All government, council, government-aided secondary and basic schools of Agra district and all the board-recognized secondary and council schools will remain closed tomorrow.

Earlier, Goswami declared a holiday in all schools from December 29 to December 30. Whereas on December 31, schools were closed due to Sunday. Later, on the instructions of the District Magistrate, DIOS issued new orders and declared a holiday in schools till January 2. Students from nursery to class 12 will now have to go to school from January 3.

Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Director Dr Mahendra Dev has released the calendar for the UP academic session 2024-25. In 2024, schools in Uttar Pradesh will remain closed for more than 100 days. The academic calendar for 2024-25 has been released in Uttar Pradesh during the winter vacation 2023. According to this, schools will be open for 233 days in the year 2024. Students studying in UP schools will get 118 holidays. Check out the list here:

September 16 – Eid-e-Milad/ Barawafat

September 17 – Vishwakarma Puja/ Anant Chaturdashi

October 2 – Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti

October 12 – Dussehra Mahanavami/ Vijay Dashami

October 30 – Narak Chaturdashi

October 31 – Diwali

November 2 – Govardhan Puja

November 3 – Bhaiya Dooj/Chitragupta Jayanti

Furthermore, this year, teachers will also be able to take leave on Karva Chauth and any two other festivals. However, they will have to take permission from the school principal.
