The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) conducted the UP police examination on February 17 and 18 this year for the recruitment of 60,244 posts in the police department. However, amid reports of a paper leak, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced its cancellation. The UP Police Recruitment Exam will be conducted for the second time in August 2024.
Stricter rules will be put in place across examination centres in UP police re-exam 2024. Lucknow Police have submitted a First Information Report (FIR) as hundreds of protesters from all over Uttar Pradesh press for a retest for the exam, which allegedly had its paper leaked. Eliminating candidates accused that the sanctity of the test was impaired since a question paper was released on social media just a couple of hours before the exam. More than 48 lakh applications were received as compared to 60,244 vacancies for the UP Police Constable Recruitment 2024.
The civil service candidates have been taking part in protests in almost every corner of Uttar Pradesh from February 19 up to this moment on the issue of the alleged paper leak in the RO/ARO preliminary exam. On Friday, the protestors gathered at the gates of the Public Service Commission of Uttar Pradesh in Prayagraj to demand the cancellation of the exam and the removal of Chairman Sanjay Srinet, who is accused of impropriety in establishing exam centres.
