To ensure security and fairness throughout the exams, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has directed all West Bengal Madhyamik board exam 2024 centre supervisors to preserve the CCTV footage. The move is intended for effective monitoring and resolution of any occurrences that may happen during the exam period.
“It is mandatory for all Madhyamik exam centres/venues to preserve CCTV footage for each day of the Madhyamik Pariksha (SE) 2024 until the publication of results. This is essential to maintain the highest standard of transparency, security, and fairness throughout the exam,” the official directive from West Bengal Board of Secondary Education Secretary Subrata Ghosh read.
As per the guidelines released by the WBBSE Secretary Subrata Ghosh, the centre supervisors have to make sure that the CCTV cameras are in working condition and are recording continuously from 8 AM to 5 PM on the board examination date. The notification further mentioned that the supervisors should ensure that the CCTV cameras have enough storage capacity to retain the footage till the announcement of Class 10 exam results.
The notification added that only authorised personnel will be able to access the camera, and the recordings should remain in the custody of the headmaster, venue supervisor, or centre secretary of the institution, who shall be responsible for its custody and availability in case of need.
“Implement reliable backup procedures to prevent any data loss due to technical issues. Restrict access to authorised personnel only. This measure is crucial for the effectiveness of monitoring and resolution of any incidents that may occur during the exam period,” the board said.
In addition to that, the West Bengal Class 10 board exam dates in 2024 are yet to be announced by the board. However, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education had earlier informed that the West Bengal Higher Secondary Class 10 exams 2024 will be conducted from February 16 to February 29. Candidates should note that the West Bengal Class 10 Madhyamik date sheet 2024 will be published on the official website of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education at wbbse.wb.gov.in. Once the date sheet is made public, students will be able to check the exam date and timings on the timetable.
