Bollywood actor Gulshan Devaiah worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali a little over a decade ago in Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Ram-Leela’. The 2013 film featured Gulshan as Bhavani. While Bhansali has gone on to reunite with almost every actor from the film, he is yet to work with Devaiah again. Speaking exclusively with News18 Showsha, Devaiah revealed the real reason behind why he and Bhansali haven’t reunited in the last 11 years.
“I haven’t heard anything from him, not even a rumour, not even a whisper," he admitted with a smile. “If there is something, I suppose, he will think of me," Devaiah added. Since Ram Leela, Bhansali has directed numerous projects. This includes the highly-talked about series Heeramandi this year.
As we wait for Devaiah and Bhansali to reunite, the actor will be seen in Bad Cop releasing this weekend. The actor plays the double role of Karan and Arjun in the series. This is his second double role character since Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. This is also another time that we see Devaiah play a police officer. He was seen donning the cop’s uniform in Dahaad.
Devaiah admitted that he agreed to star in the series because he wanted to see how differently he could play the role of the cop. He also wanted to experiment with his approach to playing twins again. “It seemed like a great idea and a lot of fun. And I get to play another type of cop, and a variation in double role so I was curious to see how I would interpretate it. I knew it would be fun and it was," he told us.
He explained that switching between his roles in the series was a task. “It took me an hour to change clothes because of the look and perming of the hair. The director wanted a certain type of a skin tone and texture in the hair so when I was playing the twins on the same and when I had to change, I needed more than an hour to sort of get ready, wear accessories and all. So that was a bit of a pain. Sorry that I am complaining but indulge me," he said.
