Manchester: Manchester City's newly-appointed manager Manuel Pellegrini is planning to bid for Dutch internationals Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder, a report said on Tuesday.
"Robben enjoyed his time in England playing for Chelsea and Sneijder is unsettled in Turkey. No club was prepared to pay the wages Sneijder wanted before he joined Galatasaray but now City are prepared to stump up the cash," a City source told SportsDirect News.
Robben and Sneijder were the two players Pellegrini never wanted to sell during his stint as coach of Real Madrid. Pellegrini was said to have told Real's management how important the Dutch duo could be in the scheme of things for the club. While Robben joined Bayern Munich, Sneider went to Inter Milan before joining Galatasaray in Turkey last season.
Pellegrini, in his first stint at City, is looking to regain the EPL title, having lost out to city rivals Manchester United in the recently concluded season.
Pellegrini, who joined City on a three year contract recently, is expected to take up the role from June 24.
