How to Make Douglas Sapphire-Speckled Slime
Mix the glue, baking soda, contact solution, dish soap, and lemon juice in a large bowl. Mix until the consistency is smooth. Use a non-stick spoon or popsicle stick.
Add 1 drop each of black, purple, blue, and orange food coloring. Stir the food coloring into the mixture.
Add the pack of glittery blue beads. To ensure your slime gets the sapphire-speckled effect, use at least 2 tablespoons of beads. Stir the beads into the slime thoroughly, then enjoy!
Storing your Douglas Slime
Store your sapphire-speckled Douglas slime in a sealed metal container. A closed metal container will prevent light from fading the colors in your slime and keep it moist. When you’re not using the slime, keep the container closed to keep air out. Once every 2 ½ months, we recommend that you spritz your slime. To do so, mix club soda into your slime, which will help moisturize the slime and keep it from cracking. If your slime dries out before that, you can increase the spritzing schedule.
Common Slime Issues
Sapphire-speckled slime can be susceptible to mold. Periodically check your slime for signs of mold, which will appear as white dots on your slime. When you see evidence of mold, spray your slime with this simple all-natural recipe: 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of vanilla extract ½ cup (240 mL) of white distilled vinegar 2 pinches of cayenne pepper
