Maradona to remain in hospital

New Delhi: Argentine football hero Diego Maradona will remain in the hospital for "a few more days", according to his personal doctor.

Forty-six-year-old Maradona was hospitalised last Sunday for abdominal pain after he left a clinic where he had spent two weeks.

Maradona's personal doctor Alfredo Cahe said that he will continue his treatment for hepatitis related to alcoholism.

Maradona has had a string of health problems since he retired 10 years ago.

In 2004, Maradona came close to death with heart problems associated with cocaine abuse, while in 2005, he had a stomach operation to fight obesity.
