The Indian Super League (ISL) have announced the inclusion of Mohammedan Sporting Club (MSC) as the newest member of the league from the 2024-25 season. The club is one of the oldest football clubs in the country and will now compete in the top tier of Indian Football.
MSC’s promotion to the ISL would make it the 13th side in the league and the second team to have earned promotion to the ISL as well. The club comes on the back of a successful season, last year where they won the 2023-24 I-League title.
During their campaign, Mohammedan SC secured a total of 52 points which included 15 wins and seven draws. The club only lost twice during their domestic season where they scored 44 goals and conceded just 22.

After Mohun Bagan Super Giants and Emami East Bengal FC, Mohammedan SC’s addition to the ISL would make it the third club from the City of Joy (Kolkata).
Kolkata remains to be one of the focal points in Indian footballing culture. With the city sharing a long and rich history with the sport, it is only natural that the club be able to compete in the nation’s most competitive footballing league.
