Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Son Signs First Professional Contract With AC Milan
The Italian club confirmed that 17-year-old Maximillian has been signed for the Rossoneri on a three-year deal that will keep the youngster at Milan till 2027.

Like father like son. Well, history repeats itself again as Maximillian Ibrahimovic, son of legendary Sweden forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has signed his first professional contract for his father’s former stomping grounds at AC Milan.

The Italian club confirmed that 17-year-old Maximillian has been signed for the Rossoneri on a three-year deal that will keep the youngster at Milan till 2027.

The Italian club also added that the 17-year-old left-back will be a part of the club’s new reserve team called Milan Futuro, which plays in the third division, Serie C.

The 17-year-old left winger scored three goals across 29 appearances for the Under-18 squad in the 2023-24 season.

His father Zlatan, a legend in his own right, played for nine clubs during his 24-year career, scoring 561 goals for club and country, according to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics.

Zlatan has a rich history with Milan, having played with both Inter and AC Milan, having clinched multiple Serie A titles with both of them.

His connection with AC Milan though runs deeper as Zlatan spent his last few seasons playing professional football for the Rossoneri, hanging up his boots at the age of 41 in 2023, after having etched his name into Serie A history as the league’s oldest goal-scorer.

“It’s time to say goodbye to football, but not to you,” an emotional Ibrahimovic told the Rossoneri fans at the San Siro stadium.

And he kept to his word indeed, as the Swede now has taken on the role as a advisor to the Rossoneri, and works in the shadows to help sculpt the future of the club.

Ibrahimovic is currently helping to play a role in the new Milan project under Paulo Fonseca and pushed for the club to set up an Under-23 squad in Serie C, following in the footsteps of Juventus and Atalanta. He’s also working closely with Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani in the transfer market, helping the club recognise and scout young talent for the future.
