How to find the mode, median, mean and range. Be sure to arrange the numbers by their numerical value. The order should range from low to high or high to low. An example of correct order would be: 1, 8, 12, 16, 18 and 22. An incorrect order wold be: 8, 1, 12, 18, 16 and 22. Follow these steps to figure out the different attributes:

Mode

Order the set of numbers.

Median

Order the set of numbers.

If the amount of numbers is odd, count equally sideways to find the number in the middle. The middle number is the median of the given set of numbers.

If the amount of numbers is even, find the average of the 2 numbers in the middle. This number is the median of the given set of numbers.

Mean/Average

Add the numbers together.

Range

Find the highest and lowest number in the set.
