In Terraria, the Eye of Cthulhu usually summons itself automatically if certain early-game milestones are met. If you want to force-spawn the Eye of Cthulhu, you can craft and use the Suspicious Looking Eye. Here's how to summon the Eye of Cthulhu in Terraria pre-Hardmode.
- To summon the Eye of Cthulhu, have at least 200 max Health and 10 defense, 4 town NPCS, and wait until 7:30 PM in-game.
- To force-summon it, craft a Suspicious Looking Eye with 6 Lens at a Demon Altar or Crimson Altar.
- Use the Suspicious Looking Eye after 7:30 PM in-game.
Obtain a Suspicious Looking Eye. This consumable item can be found in Gold or Frozen Chests in the Cavern and Dungeon, and Ivy Chest in the Underground Jungle biome. You can also use a Demon Altar or Crimson Altar to craft a Suspicious Looking Eye with 6 Lens.
Use the Suspicious Looking Eye at night. Night begins at 7:30 PM (in-game). You'll see the message "You feel an evil presence watching you…" You can now fight and defeat the Eye of Cthulhu.
