What is that song you heard on that TikTok video? For popular songs, you'll usually find the song name and artist at the bottom of the video. But what if you see "Original Audio" instead? Fortunately, there are several easy you can identify a sound on TikTok! Whether you're browsing TikTok on your computer, Android, or iPhone, this wikiHow guide will teach you how to use simple free tools to find a TikTok sound. you some tips and tricks to use so you can find the name or full version of a song on TikTok.

All you need to do is open Control Center, tap the Shazam button, then flip back to TikTok to get the audio from that video! Alternatively, you can say "Hey Siri, what's playing?" If Music Recognition is not in your Control Center, add it by going to Settings > Control Center > Add Music Recognition. Using this requires iOS 14.2 or later.

If you have an Android, ask Google Assistant.

On your Android, press and hold the Home button and say, "Hey Google, what's this song?" Google Assistant will start listening for clues. If the Assistant recognizes the TikTok sound, it will display the artist and song title.

Try the Genius app.

When Shazam fails, Genius might succeed. If Shazam is unable to get the audio, you'll need to try other things, like using the free app for Android and iPhone called "Genius." Download Genius from the Play Store for Android, or the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

Search TikTok for some words or details from the song.

If you can identify the chorus or some prominent lyrics, try searching TikTok for those words. To search for a sound, open TikTok, tap the "Discovery" icon (it looks like a magnifying glass), type in the phrase you remember, like "pretty best friends," and tap the Sounds' tab. The resulting page shows you all the audio with that name. There's a high chance it's the first result.

Search the internet for the lyrics.

If you can't find the song on TikTok by searching for lyrics, expand your search to the internet. Chances are great that you can find the TikTok sound online by searching for some lyrics. Simply enter the words that you remember in the search bar of your favorite browser and check the results. This sort of song could also be identified with Shazam, Genius, Soundhound, or Musixmatch. If the song doesn't have lyrics, you can try searching for words that describe the song and the word "instrumental." Use SoundHound's Music Discovery app.

SoundHound is less popular than Genius or Shazam is SoundHound, but works the same. similarly to the other apps, as it's free to download on the Google Play or App Store, and identifies the music that is playing. Download SoundHound for Android from the Play Store, or for iPhone and iPad from the App Store. Simply open the app, tap the SoundHound icon, and flip to TikTok to get the audio from the video.

Use the Musixmatch song identifier.

Yet another free song-identifying app is called Musixmatch. This app is free to download and does a great job at identifying any song that's playing and displaying the lyrics. You can download Musixmatch for Android from the Play Store or for iPhone and iPad from the App Store.

Check trending sounds on TikTok.

You can see which sounds are trending on TikTok when creating a new video. Go through the process of creating a new video, even if you don't want to post it. Tap Add sound, and select TikTok Viral to see the most popular songs people are using. The audio clips here will only be those licensed for commercial use, so that might not include the sound you're looking for.

Check the hashtags.

Others might identify the voiceover or sound in the hashtags. This is the case with popular voiceovers; if they are used enough, they will enter the TikTok library. But before the voiceovers are in the library and become searchable, you might find information on them in hashtags.
