Film director Dr Anil Viswanath’s 2021 thriller film Maa Oori Polimera was a blockbuster. The film revolved around a policeman who sought justice for his brother’s murder in a village riddled with black magic. Starring Satyam Rajesh, Baladitya, Getup Srinu, Kamakshi Bhaskarla, and Sahithi Dasari among others, Maa Oori Polimera established a special position in the hearts of the masses. Now, two years after its release, the makers are back with the film’s sequel titled Maa Oori Polimera 2. Released on the silver screens on November 3, the second instalment is also heading to success.
Following the positive reviews surrounding Maa Oori Polimera 2, the film’s producer Gouri Krishna shared some details about the horror movie. In a recent media interaction, Gouri revealed that the entire cast and crew members of Maa Oori Polimera 2 are enjoying the success of the film, adding that they did not expect the sequel to perform so well in the theatres. “Collections are increasing day by day. Theaters are also rising with the audience,” he said.
Gouri Krishna continued that the success of Maa Oori Polimera helped a lot in the second sequel generating a favourable outcome from the masses. He said that when Maa Oori Polimera 2’s trailer was launched, the first part started trending on social media too. The second part was made into a film solely on the faith of the director Dr Anil Viswanath. “We definitely wanted to release Maa Oori Polimera 2 in theatres. As expected, we have made efforts in that direction,” Gouri added.
In the interaction, the film’s producer said that the members associated with Maa Oori Polimera 2 are currently touring theatres. After witnessing the audience’s euphoric response to the film and its unexpected twists, he claimed to be feeling “very thrilled” and forgot their hardships. Speaking about why the director chose black magic to be the primary plot of the film, Gouei disclosed that he took inspiration from “some events happening in today’s society”.
“The success of this film boosted my confidence. I definitely want to do more good films in the future. My aim as a producer is to entertain the audience with good stories,” said Gouri Krishna. The producer also hinted that he was currently working on a new project, the details of which would be announced soon.
