HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday asked the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to focus on employment creation in the state as part of the proposed Partnership Summit to be held in the city in January next year. He mentioned that the state government would launch ‘Rajiv Education and Employment Mission’ for the unemployed youth shortly. The state government proposed to provide 15 lakh jobs in three years to youth in coordination with the industry, he said at a meeting at Secretariat on Wednesday with a delegation of CII led by its director general Chandrajit Benerjee.Preparatory steps required to be taken for ensuing the summit was discussed and the duo agreed to work upon sectors like manufacturing and service to finalise details of the countries and industrial units to be invited for the event. The chief minister has decided to constitute separate committees involving government officials and CII representatives to work on various modalities.The summit is being jointly organised by the central and state governments and the CII.Members of the CII delegation include CII south region chairman BVR Mohan Reddy, CII immediate past chairman Shakti Sagar, and CII-AP past chairmen Harishchandra Prasad and D V Manohar. Senior officials including principal secretary for industries T S Appa Rao, principal secretary for food processing C R Biswal, APIIC managing director B R Meena, commissioner of industries Karikala Valavan and secretary to the chief minister K S Jawahar Reddy.
