2,000 tiny tots may attend kids concert

KOCHI: The Inter-nursery Kids Contest and Family Shopping Expo 2011 organised by the Rotary Club and The New Indian Express will be held at the Rama Varma Club here on October 15 and 16.At least 2,000 nursery children below the age of six will participate in the function.  Single action songs, group action songs, story-telling competitions, speech, solo cinematic dance, group cinematic dance, painting competition, general knowledge tests and Baby King and Queen programmes are the highlights of the contest which will see 100 schools in and around Ernakulam participating in the function.The family shopping expo will be inaugurated by Hibi Eden MLA. The expo which is being conducted by the Rotary Club of Cochin Downtown in association with the ‘New Indian Express’ will showcase 30 stalls having consumer goods, elegant watches, clocks, classic bags, IT products and  textiles. Beauty parlours, hospitals, banks, insurance companies, financial institutions, counselling centres, educational institutions, allopathic OTC products, ayurveda products and tourism centres will be part of the stalls.Rotarians from over 30 clubs, invitees from service organisations Rama Varma Club, Lotus Club, Women’s Club, Rajeev Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Chamber of Commerce, Merchants Union, Confederation of Indian Industry, Kerala Management Association, TIE and heads of institutions of public and private sector undertakings, banks and local public are expected to participate.
