TIRUCHY: VK Divaharan, brother of Sasikala, was brought to the Annal Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital (AGMGH) on Friday following a court direction to examine his health condition and submit a report by March 12. Divaharan’s wife Premalatha had filed a petition in the Madras High Court praying for medical treatment to her husband stating that he was suffering from neurological and cardiac ailments. The court had directed the police to provide treatment for him at government hospital and submit a report. Based on the direction, Divakaran was brought to the AGMGH and was produced before the dean Dr A Karthikeyan. A team of doctors conducted various medical examinations including neurological tests, which lasted for about three hours. Around, 2.30 pm, Divaharan was taken back to the Central prison. Divaharan was arrested on February 6 at a check post near here based on the complaint by one Kasthuri on charges of demolishing her home. His anticipatory bail filed at the Madras High Court was dismissed. Similarly, Edaiyur police registered a case against Divakaran and two others on February 8 for threatening a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) mechanic, Saravanan.
